I graduated with my Honours Bachelor of Science with a Specialization in Mathematics in April 2016. I have six years experience working with students of all ages. While I was a university student, I was a tutorial leader for two "Fundamentals of Arithmetic for Teachers" courses. The course material I taught focused on how to teach mathematical processes to elementary students in a way that makes sense. As a tutorial leader I was responsible for leading the weekly learning activities to ensure each student understood the material, creating and grading the student tests. At the university, I also worked in the math drop-in centre where I helped first and second year students with their math courses. As a student, I was recruited by my professor for a math learning centre he was opening in the area. When I worked as a math instructor, I took pride in helped students gain confidence in themselves and their mathematical abilities. The students I exclusively private tutored increased their grade average by 10%. I volunteered as a leader/organizer for a math enrichment program for elementary and secondary students. For this program, I created a number sense training manual, planned engaging activities for the students to explore new concepts, as well as organize volunteers. All these opportunities have made me very passionate about math education and helping students succeed. **Rates starting at $40/hour.
